Hair Overview
Hair Basics
Dr. Dy specializes in treating men and women who are looking to regrow, enhance, or simply maintain their hair. She is dedicated in providing the most advanced and comprehensive hair loss treatments. Dr. Dy takes pride in providing every hair loss patient the highest quality results by customizing individual treatment programs to maintain, enhance and restore hairs lost.
The vast majority of patients we treat are experiencing hereditary type of hair loss which is also known as Androgenetic Alopecia or Male and Female Pattern Hair Loss. For most patients, this is a slow progressive thinning process. In fact, initial changes in the hair volume and density are so gradual that they are only detectable with the help of a microscope or a scientific trichometer. Clinical studies show that patients loose approximately 25% of their hair before it becomes clinically apparent. Other types of hair loss may occur overnight.
The hereditary type of hair loss fortunately is reversible, which means there are available methods to regrow lost hairs. Some other forms of hair loss however, are not reversible which means the hair loss is permanent. Therefore, the earlier you seek treatment for your hair thinning or loss, the sooner we can treat you and the more hairs we can save. Early recognition and intervention is the key to halting or slowing hair loss progression.
